like paper
is a dance production by cie.nomoreless, the Cologne-based, mixed-abled dance ensemble under the artistic direction of Gitta Roser.
With semi-professional performers between the ages of 29 and 78, with and without physical particularities, the new production plays with the analogy of skin and paper and tells stories about it that are both amusing and sensitive, in a stage scenery made of paper.
The skin is the human being’s largest (sensory) organ. It is our point of contact with the outside world and sometimes causes pleasure as well as frustration. Its proverbial nature accompanies us throughout our everyday lives – jumping out of one’s skin, being thin- or thick-skinned, slipping into another person’s skin – and at the same time shows how
sensitive yet extremely robust our skin is.
Paper has a two-dimensionality that closely resembles that of skin – patient, blank, wrinkled, strong and every bit as ephemeral.
like paper – a play with facets, forms, colours and projections.
